![]() ![]() Perhaps there'll be a valuable lesson learnt about backing up computer stuff as well. You might find a cheap replacement copy on Ebay or somewhere like Amazon, who often have discounted copies of long discontinued software, or you might want to upgrade to a more recent version. If you can't find any of them, then that's bad luck, but no one's fault but your own. If you activated a trial copy, and can find the serial number, you can still download the trial from here (version 9.00) or here (version 9.01) on the old Jasc FTP site. If it doesn't work, then have a better look for the installation CD or the old downloaded installation file. If it does, make a desktop and/or Start menu shortcut to make it easier to open in the future. Quite possibly it will recreate its registry entries and cache files, and open correctly. Then double click on C:\Program Files\Jasc Software Inc\Paint Shop Pro 9\Paint Shop Pro 9.exe. Copy the "My PSP Files" folder from your old "My Documents" to your new documents folder. All you want to be doing here is looking, don't mess around with any of this stuff, you can hose your machine.Īs a last possibility, just copy the C:\Program Files\Jasc Software Inc\Paint Shop Pro 9 folder from your old computer to your new one. You could also try looking through your registry on the old machine to see if it's stored there, Start-> Run, type in regedit, OK, try looking in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Jasc\Installed there's an entry there on my machine that looks like it might be a serial. ![]() ![]() You might try looking in the version that you have installed on the old machine under Help-> About, see if it shows up in there. You're going to have to find your key though. I've always had CD versions so I don't have any idea how the activation for the download version works. I didn't actually give it a go, just clicked the download link to see if it would start. Well, it looks like digitalriver (the company that used to handle Jasc's download versions) still has the trial on their server: I have tried emailing corel but after completing the message was greeted with a message saying that they did not suppor the product because it was too old. How can I move this program to the new machine? ![]() I cannot find an email from Jasc or Corel activating or providing a download link. I downloaded the version 9.0 and do not have a CD for it.
